Enchanted Mirror on BBB

Ok, so I've been quiet for a while, since I've gotten my refund (which doesn't make the fraud go away. She advertised the shipping time as 3-4 weeks for the item, which she knew she couldn't deliver. )

Anyway, now I'm finding out through someone writing a comment, that she has started a new Better Business Bureau Profile with some different information, in order to circumvent the negative profile her company already has with the BBB. And she's using that fake profile as a link from her site, to make potential customers think that there haven't been any complaints.

Obviously another type of fraud, that she's using to try to lure unsuspecting people into her web of deceit. I'm sure there are a number of us that have now notified the BBB of this and we'll keep our eyes on this.

------------------

update - the fraudulent BBB site has been taken down by the BBB. She was also informed that it's illegal to use the BBB logo, unless you're an accredited member of the BBB. And that link has been taken down from her site as well.

  1. You do not "know" that Barbara is the one who made the BBB listing? Does it say her? For all you know, it could be the new investor. He is most likely going to change the name anyway, so it won't matter. All coming up very soon.

  2. "Michaela" (blog creator),
I am kind of curious why this overwhelming obsession with Barbara, and this store?
You did receive a refund. Yes, it took way too long, but you did get one. "we will keep our eyes on this"...Really? Why such a vendetta against Barbara, is it some kind of personal problem, as the store resolved your payment issue. Custody battle? Family Trauma? Divorce? Hate your job? It just makes one wonder why you are still so into this.
When all orders are complete, and the new investor takes over, what will you do then, start a new blog, with the new store name, and attempt to bash Barbara, still?
Seems you have issues that go WAY beyond a Stevie Nicks dress purchase. That's too bad.

  3. New investor, my ass. Sounds like another likely story to me. If I'm wrong, and I receive the packages I'm due, I'll be happy to admit it here.
    Tick, tock...

  4. What makes you so sure "she" has been contacted by the BBB to take the logo down? OMFG, you people act like you know what is going on with this store, and are so clueless!
And Stefanie, why are you so sure there is no investor? None of you know one thing about Barbara, or this store, personally. A lot of people believe in her, and are helping her.
I would think that you would think this is a good thing, if you have not gotten a purchase, etc. But still you bicker, over stupid tribute bands, and "she was informed" blah blah blah.
Are YOU a working member of the BBB, "Michaela"? Did YOU "inform" Barbara?
    NO and NO.
Don't try to talk like you are such an authority on the store, and in reality, you have NO clue what is happening for us all!
The store is changing, as per request of the investor.
That is all I am permitted to say at this time.
Especially, since You "Michaela" have your refund.
Do you plan to drag this obsession with Barbara out till you are a really old lady, I mean older than now?
Surely there is something more constructive you can do to create some happiness in your life?
The "we'll keep our eyes on this" statement is just so lame, and so very very sad.
Life is too short to worry about a refunded Stevie Nicks picture/dress/package.

  5. It is immaterial whether the BBB contacted the Enchanted Mirror store or not to inform them that the profile they created was inappropriate. Several people – myself included – complained directly to the BBB about the misrepresentation the profile projected to the unsuspecting public. In my email to our case manager C. C., I wrote:

“It came to my attention yesterday, that the business I have a complaint against - Enchanted Mirror - has posted a link on the home page of their web site to the Better Business Bureau. There are two profiles available on the "BBB - Find-Business-Reviews" for this online retailer. The first - and original listing is "Enchanted Mirror aka Timeless FInery". This is the one BBB has on file for (sic) the retailer and the one indicating their rating. The second listing "Enchanted Mirror Shoppe", popped up a week of so after I filed my complaint with the BBB and has no rating. It has a profile that looks like the listing was put together by the owner of the store: "We are based in the USA, with affiliate offices in Atlanta, GA 30339". It is the latter profile that the web administrator of the retailer has posted the link to.

    See: http://stores.enchantedmirror.com/StoreFront.bok

I am insulted that the owner would pull an underhanded stunt like that and I think it is false advertising. I am hoping that you can see to it that her second listing is removed. FYI, I have still not received my promised refund - to date.”

That was on 4/6. Whether by my, or someone else’s request, the profile was removed.

None of the dissatisfied customers – past or present - are interested in “what is happening for us all!”. We are only concerned that:
    1. The store gets its long overdue orders delivered and its promised refunds expedited.
    2. the store represents itself with honesty and integrity to its present and future customers.

You are sorely mistaken if you believe that Michaela stands alone in her diligence to hold Enchanted Mirror to acceptable standards. The fact that she started this blog is constructive in and of itself. Leaving it available for others to utilize, is beyond the call of duty.

When you don’t play by the rules, those who do, won’t tolerate it.

Should you achieve some modicum of maturity – as YOU grow older - William & Tara, you will find that the overwhelming consensus of people who have paid good money for a “picture/dress/package” of any kind, will bear a grudge over getting nothing or having to fight tooth and nail for a refund.

  6. You are right, I actually have no idea if they do or do not have a new investor. In fact, I hope they do! But I have been given many different excuses as to why I am still waiting for the items I paid for in '08. So, I'm a little wary of the whole business. Relations with Barbara & Antoniette have always been friendly (for the most part) If things go well, and I am still hoping they will, I'll provide an update promptly.

I don't believe in holding grudges or getting overly worked up over any material item, but I also believe people have a right to expect to receive what they've paid for.

  7. Hello White Winged Dove,
I think you misunderstood my message.
"Life is too short to worry about a refunded Stevie Nicks picture/dress/package." I stated.
    A REFUNDED package or purchase.
This was to the blog owner who WAS refunded in December, but continues on and on, and does not seem to be able to carry on her life now.
I did not mean anyone waiting for a refund or item should forget it. No way! But if you ARE refunded, or get your item, don't you think, then is the time to carry on with this great thing called LIFE?
Barbara + Antoinette are very nice people, and it just bugs us to see someone STILL carrying on, after the transaction is settled.
I am sure Stef and WWD, yours will be completed soon, too, as these people are not "frauds" or out to rip anyone off.
Just hard times happen in this world.
It will all be good, very soon :)

  9. "B+" rating for the Enchanted Mirror, on the BBB website now. Says all 6 complaints in the past 3 years have been "resolved". This looks good to anyone who looks up this online store.

  10. I'm here to state for the record that I have received all of my fan club goodies, and I am very pleased with how the issue was resolved.
I am embarrassed to have posted here at all, especially after seeing the recent 'cow' comment above. Pretty pathetic.

I hope everyone here will receive a resolution from Enchanted Mirror to their satisfaction. After that, my suggestion is to forgive and move on. Life really is too short to hold on to such bitterness.

    Cheers!
    Stefanie

  11. Congratulations, Stefanie.
Seems things are getting back on track.
I agree, the "cow" comments are so
immature and irrelevant to the point.
Looks like the "tribute haters" are back
    in force.

  12. I am an actual customer, I am not Barbara, nor do I work for her.
This will be the last post from me, as I don't appreciate being called a liar, even on an obscure, nasty blog.

    Over and out,
    Stefanie

Last week, Barbara Joy McLuin, 54, of Loganville, was convicted of cruelty to an elder person in the Walton County Superior Court.

According to Alcovy Circuit Court Assistant District Attorney Jacqueline Payne, the conviction carries a maximum 20-year sentence. McLuin will be sentenced by Alcovy Circuit Court Superior Court Judge Eugene Benton on Aug. 26, 2015.

Payne said the conviction stems from McLuin’s arrest in 2012 following a call from her Loganville home regarding a medical emergency with her elderly mother.

“On Nov. 20, 2012, the defendant called 911 to request EMS assistance at her home in Loganville. She reported that her 80-year-old bedridden mother was suffering from an altered mental state,” Payne said. “Walton County Fire and EMS responded to the call and found the home to be unlivable. They reported it to law enforcement and removed the victim from the residence. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office, Animal Control, and Code Enforcement responded to the scene. Due to the conditions inside of the home, the house was declared uninhabitable. The victim was transported to Clearview Regional Medical Center and treated for various medical issues related to bed sores and infection.”

According to the WCSO incident report, some 15 – 20 cats also were removed from the home by animal control. McLuin was also charged with animal cruelty, but was found not guilty on that charge, according to Payne. Officials confirm McLuin is the same Barbara Joy who is a member of a Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac Tribute band.

The case was investigated by WCSO and prosecuted by Payne along with Victim Services Director Kim Roberts. A jury convicted McLuin on Aug. 6, 2015 and she is currently being held at the Walton County Detention Center awaiting sentencing.
