Enchanted mirror - yet again another post

No, this website will stay up. It chronicles exactly what happened and there are no lies in it. Just because Barbara paid me back and possibly sent merchandise out after years of waiting does not make the situations unhappen.

Here's the definition of 'slander':

slan⋅der

–noun
1. defamation; calumny: rumors full of slander.
2. a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report: a slander against his good name.
3. Law. defamation by oral utterance rather than by writing, pictures, etc.
–verb (used with object)
4. to utter slander against; defame.
–verb (used without object)
5. to utter or circulate slander.

So, before any of you throw any more words around you better check out the actual meaning.

And, Barbara, if you actually knew how to count, then you would have noticed that there is another customer who commented once on this website, who's been waiting for years, under the name of 'Reggie'. Guess what, it's an unhappy customer of yours. from Ebay. You just used a bogus tracking number after the ebay complaint, but he actually never received your product. I just don't think that the's tracking this website. And I bet there are many others out there, that just haven't found the website and that's why they haven't written here. Most people don't want to make waves and will just quietly swallow things. Obviously, those of us here on this site aren't that way.

This blog will stay up and potential customers can make up their own mind and decide whether they want to order from Enchanted mirror / Timeless Finery or not.

Barbara

Don't twist this around as to me changing my mind and you were doing me a favor.

Your website described the delivery of your nightbird dress as 3-4 weeks, which you have now changed to 4-6 weeks. If you offer a particular service and then change that around after payment, then that is called 'bait and switch', which is a form of fraud and it's against the law.

In fact, in July 6th, under the name of Carita Hill, you offered me a refund, which I then asked for and promptly you had my future emails bounce back after that. (you even confirmed to me in a later email exchange, that you will have emails from me bounce back).

As you've seen, I don't go away that easily. You're defrauding people, that's all there is to it. And trying to offer the paid for products a year or 2 later, after people have been squeakly wheels, does not make up for it.

Refund recieved -after 10 months and lots of complaints

Yes, I have received my refund. And suddenly Barbara has all her minions come out and vouch for her.

The thing is, neither I nor the other person would have received anything, if we hadn't had made a lot of noise and created trouble for her.

It's been TEN months, since I placed my order and paid for it in full. There are people out there that haven't received their products and it's been years. This is not the way to run a business. Just because she now backed down and shipped to 2 of the most vocal people does not mean that she's an 'ok person'. Sending product now or giving a refund after so much hassle, does not make it go away or even the score.
There are 10 months (and longer times for others) or not having the funds, nor the
ordered product. Lots of hassle to go through to get this back. Insults and threads
endured. Just because her products supposedly are very good, does not give her
license to steal. Just like a thief paying back when pressured by the courts, does
not make the crime go away.

Integrity is what you do when nobody is watching. And clearly, as long as most people are quiet, she didn't do anything. She just pocketed the money. There is no business owner in the world, that lets their vendors just decided that they'll take months and months to ship their product and then wait for them to send a refund. It's just plain bullsh*t.

I have lots of emails from her (that I have all saved), in which she is ridiculing me and taunting me to go ahead and make complaints and in which she's threatening me. So, I did complain, anyway I could find. Now it just got a little too hot for her and she caved for the 2 most vocal critics.

So, I would suggest for any of you that haven't received your product, be as vocal as you can be. Make sure that you report her to the Georgia Better Business Bureau, because I think those new complaints with them did it for us.

And those of you thinking about buying from her - don't!

Package, what package?

well, looks like the package that 'alledgedly' left Barbara's place on 12-4 never arrived. Hm.....do you think that postal truck was abducted by aliens and the post man's memory zapped? ;-)

Why am I not surprised about this? I think those of us who've had experience with Enchanted Mirror knew that was going to happen.....or 'not happen'.

It's interesting to note.....

that Barbara claims to already be selling merchandise to 3 stores and yet, she's not registered with the Georgia Secretary of State. I bet they won't take kindly to that.

Refund and interest

Barbara,
unfortunately, they don't let me add comments to my own blogs, so I will just keep adding new blogs.

Make sure that you add 12% interest to the refund you're sending me , since Feb. 20th. You took the liberty to keep my money and work with it and subsequently I lostthe funds accordingly.

Georgia allows 12% interest for fifas, and that's what I expect for my money.

Anything else will be unacceptable.

And....yes, I will report here that I received a refund...should it come. But we all know that the only reason you're given is because it's getting too hot for you and I'm creating too many problems by being vocal about your fraud. There are many more people that have been defrauded by you and your scams. So, don't expect me to cancel the blog, as I want other victims to see that they're not alone and that they should just go ahead and file any kind of criminal complaint against you.

Your business practices are completely unprofessional. Giving a refund or sending merchandise after 1 year or more is not ok. It doesn't just wipe the slate clean. Your reputation will spread and it will backfire on you.

Enchanted Mirror - one more thing to do

for those of you having been defrauded - call your sheriff and file criminal charges. If you want to know her current address in Georgia, please feel free to contact me.

I wonder.......

if this so called usps shipping code, given by Barbara, is the same kind of code that she gave to those 2 people on ebay, who had negative comments. She claimed that she sent their products and even gave an usps code, yet, neither one of them ever received anything. One person lost over $ 400 to her lies......

It seems.......

that I irritated someone with my blog. Very happy to notice the lively debate that's going on in response to one of the previous blogs. So, people that google her will come across her blog and see that I'm not the only person that has been defrauded.

As to promises that I get my $ back this month - yeah, right! She had the funds to pick up and move from Kentucky to Georgia, but supposedly doesn't have enough money to pay pack $ 150.00
- something smells pretty bad.

In the meantime I'm keeping up my complaints at various venues.

Enchanted mirror - update

Just found that the complaint I made today with my3cents (as recommended by paypal) is already showing up in google on the first page

http://www.my3cents.com/showReview.cgi?id=65845

Here is their Better Business Bureau site
http://www.lexington.bbb.org/commonreport.html?compid=225512602

They are rated 'F', which is the worst possible rating they could have received

Enchanted Mirror - defrauded

Hm...so I placed this order for a dress with a website called 'enchanted mirror' aka 'Timeless Finery' on 2-20-09. The page promised delivery within 3-4 weeks, so I figured there'd be enough time until 3-31, when I had planned to wear it.

3-4 weeks went by - nothing. I asked, and the response was that I should have read the FAQ page, which explains that some items take up to 12 weeks (gee - why did the page for the item say 3-4 weeks?), but that they were expecting the dress middle of april.

Middle of april and even 12 weeks came and went - nothing. I asked again and they said that they would check with the vendor. Nothing more.

In June I insisted that I wanted my money back. Nothing.

I filed a claim with Paypal and they said that that should have happened within 30 days. (They obviously knew how to circumvent paypal rules).

Emails to them kept bouncing back. A couple of weeks ago I started searching and found one of her myspace sites and made comments about the fraud. I received an email back by someone pretending to be a friend of the owner's , barbara McLuin, writing that she'd forward the information. We went back and forth a few times, until she stopped pretending to be someone else. When I insisted that I wanted my money back or I would go to the BBB, she wrote 'Goahead and do what you need to do. God bless!' and she blocked me.

Today, I contacted Paypal by phone and told them about the fraud and that there's a whole list of people that have complaints in with the Better Business Bureau without resolution. The BBB gives the business an 'F'. They said that they would take action. I hope they suspend her account. They also suggested that I file a complaint with www.ic3.gov , which is the internet crime unit. and also report it to www.my3cents.com , I did all that.

Then I tried her timelessfinery@gmail one more time. This time it went through and she pretended to be a seamstress named Antoinette. We went back and forth. Then she sent me this sob story:'I will assume the reason Barbara did not refund you is two KY seamstresses stole over $2500 and a storage unit full of items, fabrics, etc from her, and she does not HAVE the funds to refund you. NOT your problem at all, I understand this. But can you not do a "chargeback" with your credit card to get your funds back? I understand that could help you?

I understand you are upset, and I wish I could help you more. Barbara is selling privately to boutiques in the Atlanta area, so will not be using "Enchanted Mirror" for that, so only the online store uses that name.

She several times made the suggestion to use a charge back to get my money back. Yeah, sure, 9 months later, when it's been paid with a debit card straight out of my account. And of course, that's still fraud that they don't seem to have a problem with.

She just moved from Lexington, KY to Loganville, GA and she claims to have had to borrow the money to move.

She's also now threatening to file bogus claims against my business. As soon as I come across something I will file such a huge slander suit, she won't know what hit her.

Any of you that has been defrauded by her, feel free to contact me.

Please also check out my subsequent blogs, since I'm unable to add comments to my own blogs. Just click on the blog headline and you will get a listing of all my blogs and various responses
